ADD

ADD is attention deficit disorder.
ADD is chronic conditions including attention difficulty, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness
There are more than 3 million cases in the U.S. is each year.
ADD can not be cured but medication can help.
Depression and learning disabilities are common with ADD.
Mood swings are also common with ADD.
Persistent repetition of words or actions is a symptom.
Talk therapy can help with ADD.
Another name for ADD is Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

amnesia

Amnesia is a disorder related to memory loss
Affects memory attention, storage, retention, working memory.
Caused by damage to the limbic system.
The limbic system is the part of the brain that controls emotions and memories.
Neurological amnesia is caused by strokes,brain inflammation, lack of oxygen, alcohol abuse, and many other things.
Dissociate amnesia is caused by emotional trauma but is rare.
Risk factors are Brain surgery/ injury,stroke, seizures, alcohol abuse.
It may not be possible to retrieve lost memories.
Treatment for amnesia occupational therapist, no drugs are known at this point.
Sometimes care is needed for patients with amnesia.

Dementia

Classified by impairment of  impairments of two or more brain functions such as memory loss and judgement.
 Symptoms of dementia is personality changes, wandering, depression, wandering, and getting lost.
 They can also have hallucination.
This is very common in the elderly.
Most common in people over 60.
The treatment for dementia can be medication or preventative care.
Risk factors include, family history, high cholesterol, smoking, and diabetes.
Dementia is associated with Parkinson and  Huntington disease.
There are many different types of dementia.
Some peoples dementia progresses quickly as others are very slow.
